Over 100 Students visit Mid-Ohio ESC for Student workshop
Student Art Shop was held at Mid-Ohio ESC
Over 100 Students were in attendance learning all types of Multimedia Koru Art.
Koru is the name given to the new, unfurling fern frond by the Maori people of New Zealand. Symbolizing new life, growth, strength and peace, the Koru represents the silver fern, a national symbol of New Zealand and is an integral part of Maori art and culture.Participants will learn about the elements and principles of design while creating a multimedia assemblage utilizing the Koru and Maori art as inspiration. Students will experiment with various art mediums including metal tooling, alcohol inks, watercolor, chalk pastels, as well as colored pencils and markers in completing this multi-step process.
