Lynn Meister new Director of Teaching and Learning at Mid-Ohio ESC
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center (MOESC) Board of Governors approved Lynn Meister as the new Director of Teaching and Learning during its regular board meeting April 24 . She will officially begin her duties in this new role August 1.
Meister has been serving as an Adolescent Literacy Coach for the Striving Readers Grant during the 2018-2019 school year. Prior to this experience, she served as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment and School Improvement for Madison Local Schools for eight years.
“We are very fortunate to bring Lynn to the leadership team at MOESC,” interim Superintendent Ed Swartz said. “Her more than thirty years of experience in education will serve our client districts well.”
Meister’s experience also includes conducting district-wide curriculum audits and data analysis, resulting in customized training at the district, building and classroom levels. Her passion is developing an effective focus to meet measurable goals and ensure increased student progress and achievement at all levels.
“I’m honored to be selected as the Director of Teaching and Learning for Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center,” she said. “This new role is a tremendous and exciting opportunity, and I look forward to developing a comprehensive team to provide customized support for Mid-Ohio’s member districts.”
The Director of Teaching and Learning provides leadership for MOESC’s full range of data, assessment and accountability services in support of its partner school districts. This new position also oversees coordination with district, building and teacher-based teams on the collection, use and interpretation of data to improve curriculum and instruction that leads to increased student achievement.
“My priority is to work collaboratively with district personnel to understand their needs and provide them with customized and timely services and support,” Meister said. “My team of knowledgeable professionals at Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center will examine data, conduct curriculum alignment sessions, deliver specialized professional development and coaching, and work with the district to monitor the results of those efforts.”
