Lunch & Learn September Meeting

Superintendents and school administrators need excellent communication skills  to effectively lead their schools and districts. Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center wants to help these leaders by offering a professional development opportunity allowing area administrators to learn and to glean from each other’s experience in a relaxed setting. The first Lunch & Learn will take place on the Mid-Ohio campus, 890 W. Fourth Street in Mansfield, on September 10th, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be other Lunch & Learn meetings in December and May.

The topics for the first Lunch & Learn will center around mobilizing teams through efficient and effective decision-making. First will be a working lunch where superintendents and their administrators will receive a short professional learning opportunity and have time to discuss district operations through the lens of the new learning. Following the working lunch, administrators will dig deeper into the learning with Dr. Mark E. Burke, Jr., Executive Director of Achievement and Leadership and Dr. Lisa Riegel.

Goals for the Lunch & Learn will be to clarify district objectives and who sets priorities and action plans, help administrators identify teams and define levels of authority for decision making and to formulate mitigation plans for barriers to implementation of district and building priorities.

“I am looking forward to these Lunch & Learn gatherings. Learning never stops, even for administrators, and Dr. Riegel and I are excited to give them the opportunity to learn and then process the information with their peers,” said Burke. “We want to help all of our area superintendents and administrators gain knowledge that they can take back to their districts to apply what they’ve learned.”

Interested participants can register at http://www.moesc.net/register. For more information, contact Dr. Burke at burke.mark@moesc.net. Members of client districts can attend for free, while non-client participants will have a $25 fee.
