MOESC Hosting Gifted Learning Conference August 9

Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center is excited to host a one-day conference aimed at helping educators provide quality educational experiences for gifted learners. Though the conference is specifically designed to provide professional development to teachers serving gifted students, participants will learn valuable strategies for all students and all are invited to register.

The conference Reaching and Teaching Gifted Learners Through Technology, led by Stephanie Howell and MOESC gifted consultants, will take place August 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mid-Ohio ESC. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m., and lunch is not provided.

Ms. Howell is the CEO of Gold EDU, a Google for Education Partner, a founder of Global GEG, and the EdTech Lead for Pickerington Local Schools. She is key to the embedding and implementation of EdTech tools across her schools and organizations. Recently she was named by EdTech Magazine as one of the Top 30 IT Influencers in the US for 2022.

With guidance and support from experienced professionals, educators will make some resources for the classroom. Attendees of the conference will receive 5 gifted PD hours. Registration is $25 for those from client districts and $40 for those from non-client districts. Register at www.moesc.net/register. Anyone with questions about the conference or registration can contact Leanna Ferreira at 419-774-5520 or by emailing ferreira.leanna@moesc.net

Carrie Wood, MOESC Director of Teaching & Learning, said offering this conference is a help to educators. “I’m so proud of our talented gifted team as they offer many ways for our educators to refine and update best practices in gifted education to personalize the learning experience for our gifted students in this region!”
