MOESC’s Fall Administrative Conference August 1st, Registration Open

Area educators and educational administrators are invited to join Mid-Ohio Education Service Center on Monday, August 1, 2022, for their Fall Administrative Conference, titled “Be the Best.” The conference, which is being sponsored by Scholastic, will take place at the Mid-Ohio Conference Center, 890 W. 4th Street in Mansfield, with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. and the conference starting at 8 a.m.

The featured keynote speaker is Harvey Alston. Harvey has taken his personal proven message “Be the Best” to millions of people. His unforgettable words of individual responsibility for achievement have improved spirits, spurred growth, and changed lives. Harvey’s powerful, soul-searching presentation uplifts people to a higher standard – to a level where people strive only for the BEST!

Harvey’s career has spanned positions from head football coach of Columbus East High School in Ohio in 1968, to assistant director of student financial aid at the university level. As an educator he’s taught English, biology, health, life sciences and math curricula. Over the years, Harvey has received recognition and awards from such diverse groups and organizations as the Ohio House of Representatives as one of Ohio’s Finest Citizens, the City of Columbus declared a Harvey Alston Day, DECA Hall of Fame, National Federation of State High School Associations Outstanding Service Award, Ohio High School Athletic Association Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Award, he was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel, and has received numerous national recognitions and awards.

Currently, he is the Coordinator for the Ohio High School Athletic Association-Student Leadership Conference (the largest in the country), serves on the advisory board to the National Federation of High Schools- NSLS, the Upper Valley Joint Vocational School.
 
There will also be breakout sessions on the following topics:

  • Legislative and Legal Updates
  • Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
  • Special Education
  • Communication and Marketing
  • Social and Emotional/Behavioral Supports
  • Leadership

Members of client districts can attend for $50. For those participating from a non-client district, the cost is $100. The registration deadline is July 19th, after that date no refunds will be given. Register at www.moesc.net/adminconference. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
