Hillsdale Local School District Announces Superintendent Search

 

Jeromesville, OH (January 4, 2023) – The Hillsdale Local School District, located in Ashland County, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Superintendent. Current Superintendent Steve Dickerson is retiring after serving the district for a decade. The Board is seeking a leader who can drive improvements and academic performance, demonstrates fiscal responsibility, and possesses the ability to work collaboratively with faculty members, staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders.   

 

Hillsdale Local, will serve 817 students in a new PK-12 building that is scheduled to open in 2023. Hillsdale prides itself on being the center of the community and has a strong relationship and backing of the community. Hillsdale has a tradition of excellence providing strong academic programming while offering varied co-curricular and extracurricular activities for students. 

 

The Board of Education is seeking a candidate that is a strong communicator, self-motivated and enjoys being a part of an engaged community. Qualified applicants should have a Master's degree and a valid Ohio School Superintendent license or evidence that one is obtainable, as well as demonstrated organizational and leadership skills, knowledge of Ohio Revised Code as it relates to school operations and superintendent responsibilities, and displays a positive, optimistic demeanor while modeling high standard of professional conduct and inspiring leadership. 

 

The Board of Education will offer a multi-year contract with salary and benefits that is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will work as a collaborative team with the Board, Treasurer, staff and community stakeholders, tenaciously pursue the vision for the district while skillfully carrying out operational details, overcoming obstacles and accomplishing objectives, effectively communicate verbally and in writing with the Board and a variety of audiences in a proactive and timely manner; display transparency in delivering high quality presentations and communications for the Board and stakeholders, and approach challenges and problem solving with creativity and innovation.

Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center provides specialized academic and support services to 11 school districts and over 18,000 students in Crawford, Morrow and Richland Counties. Client districts receive services from curriculum, gifted and special education consultants, speech pathologists, psychologists, special education teachers, occupational therapists and physical therapists.
