Mansfield, OH (November 16, 2023) The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center Board of Governors voted at their meeting on Wednesday, November 15th to approve a contract with Brenda Miller to hire her as Executive Director of Finance and CFO/Treasurer. The Board of Governors approved a seven-month contract for Brenda as Executive Director of Finance from January 1, 2024 through July 31, 2024 where she will work with outgoing MOESC Treasurer Lorraine Earnest to learn the new position. Brenda was also approved for a two-year CFO/Treasurer contract from August 1, 2024 through July 31, 2026. Brenda, who is currently the treasurer of Cardington-Lincoln Local School District was selected from a strong field of candidates which included 18 applicants from both the traditional school treasurer background and the business sector.

MOESC Board President Dough Theaker said, “Our Board of Governors had a thorough and in-depth search for a new treasurer with a lot of great applicants and good discussion. After much thought and discussion, we came to the unanimous decision to hire Mrs. Miller. We are happy she accepted and are looking forward to working with her, though we will miss Lorraine greatly.”

Prior to being hired as Cardington-Lincoln’s treasurer, Brenda worked as a fiscal specialist at New Albany Plain Local School District. Brenda received a bachelor's degree in business finance from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in May 2018. “I am truly honored to join Mid-Ohio ESC as Executive Director of Finance, and eventually as CFO. My enthusiasm is fueled by the prospect of contributing to the financial strength and strategic vision that has already been established by the strong leadership team of Mid-Ohio ESC. I see an exciting journey ahead, one where we align financial strategies with the goals of Mid-Ohio ESC to seize opportunities for sustainable growth, drive operational excellence and provide our constituents with quality services that will continue to support and serve students.”

Jennifer Reed, Mid-Ohio ESC Human Resource Director, welcomed Brenda: “We are excited to welcome Brenda to the Mid-Ohio ESC team. We feel her background and experience are an excellent match for this role and will benefit the organization and the districts we serve.”
