Paraprofessional Training August 15 and 16

Paraprofessionals are a diverse group. Their roles in schools differ, their job experiences prior to working in schools differ, and their own schooling experiences differ. Despite these differences, paraprofessionals must support student needs and serve in the role of instructional helper. In an effort to meet these ever expanding needs, Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center (MOESC) is offering professional development geared specifically toward paraprofessionals.

The goals of the training, led by Ang Fetter, MOESC Special Education Consultant, are to develop foundational knowledge and skills that support instructional planning and delivery, including monitoring progress of students, understanding IDEA-eligible disability areas, supporting in an inclusive classroom, and applying behavior management techniques.

Participants will attend and complete one full day of learning, selecting from either a virtual (Zoom) format on August 15, or an in-person session at MOESC on August 16. Individuals will then actively participate in monthly, 1-hour virtual (Zoom) meetings the second Thursday of each month. Choose from either Session #1 3:45 - 4:45 PM or Session #2 5:00 – 6:00 PM.

Interested participants for either the in-person or virtual training may sign up at MOESC website, www.moesc.net/register. Client/Member cost for the course is $75, while non-client cost is $100.
