MOESC Announces Job Openings

Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center announces three job openings: Assistant Director of Student Services, Director of Achievement & Leadership, and Literacy Educational Consultant. These jobs are currently open for applicants. 

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Student Services, the Assistant Student Services Director aids with the development, implementation and evaluation of all Mid-Ohio ESC Student Services programs.  The programs include: services relating to legal compliance with IDEA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, social/emotional and behavioral issues and services, related services, psychological services, drug, alcohol, alternative programs, Federal and State programs, Parent Mentors, crisis prevention, instructional strategies for diverse learners, evaluation and assessment, intervention programs, and comprehensive programs for student achievement, instructional design and technology support. It is the responsibility of the assistant to understand current educational laws, direct and implement programs and services to best meet the needs of the students served by Mid-Ohio ESC.

The Director of Leadership and Achievement will provide leadership and support for the Mid-Ohio ESC’s full range of professional learning opportunities and offer professional services in support of all client and partner school districts. The director position will promote an effective learning environment through direct and indirect support, encourage program innovations, and assist in preserving the efficient and effective operations of MOESC. 

The Educational Consultant for literacy will provide leadership through a range of services and supports for ELA/literacy teachers in the development and implementation of each district’s reading plans, based on Ohio’s Plan to Raise Literacy Achievement. The Educational Consultant will work directly with teachers in classrooms by providing evidence-based strategies and methods; co-creating highly effective, evidence-based plans; modeling best practices; engaging in one-on-one support; and facilitating teacher inquiry and professional development. The Consultant will train and support teachers in their implementation of Structured Literacy to raise student achievement and close the gap for all struggling readers, including those with dyslexia.
